RECENT ACQUISITIONS: PHOTOGRAPHY

April 10, 2015 — March 13, 2016

This exhibition, organized by FAM’s Consulting Curator for Photography, Stephen Jareckie, celebrates the opening of the newly renovated Ronald M. Ansin Gallery and features photographic prints acquired during the past two years.

Selected from over 200 acquisitions, these photographs reveal the growth and development of FAM’s permanent collection, with varied historical work, color photography, engaging 21st-century images, and wider representations of important New England photographers Jules Aarons and Stephen DiRado.

The Fitchburg Art Museum is indebted to the photographers, private collectors and photography art dealers who have generously helped the Museum expand and enhance its photographic holdings, now numbering over 650 prints.

Recent Acquisitions: Photography is sponsored by Kate and Gene Ellison and Commonwealth Financial Network in honor of Peter B. Laytin.

Peter B. Laytin is a Professor in the Communications/Media Department at Fitchburg State University, a Trustee of the Fitchburg Art Museum, and an internationally acclaimed fine art photographer.
